ZERO GROUND dBzSHIELD®
Shielded Flexible Conduits are designed for
wiring applications requiring shielding effectiveness from Electromagnetic
and Radio Frequency Interference (EMI / RFI) and from Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP).
As a modified Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS)
product line, dBzSHIELD offers an alternative to Mil Spec conduit systems, and unshielded commodity conduit. Power and signal cables are run through these conduits where electrical interference with sensitive electronic circuits such as communications,
radar, and data transmission is a concern.
What sets dBzSHIELD apart? Most dBzSHIELD brands offer dual metallic shields (flexible core and tinned copper braid) for effective mitigation of interference across a broad frequency spectrum. After recent expanded frequency testing, we can now report our tested Shielding Effectiveness from 10KHz to 18 GHz. Brief test description, SE Graph and link to the full test report are below.
SHIELDING
EFFECTIVENESS
The chart below depicts the shielding effectiveness (attenuation
in dBs) of the BBS, IBC and SBS conduits over a spectrum of test frequencies
from10 KHz to 150 MHz Magnetic field ( M ), 1 MHz to 10MHz Electric field ( E ), and 1 GHz to 18GHz Planewave field ( PW ).
Results are compared against unshielded commodity flexible steel conduit.
Tests were performed per MIL-STD-285 on 1/2" trade size conduit, with commercial trade size fittings attached each end. Conductive grease was used to minimize leakage at the fitting, and is recommended for all applications. Numeric values are in dB of attenuation.
Notes: Data applies to L-BBS, L-IBC and L-SBS, since these brands is identical to BBS, IBC and SBS, respectively, except for jacket compound.
Test results are not available at all frequencies for ABS. Please consult ABS or L-ABS Tech Data Sheet for available data.
